The Site is located entirely within the administrative boundary of Stirling Council, and sits immediately north of the Carron Valley Reservoir. The Site is approximately 6km east of Fintry, and 11km south west of Stirling City Centre and will consist of up to 4 turbines with tip heights of up to 180m, as displayed in the figure below.
On Wednesday 11th September 2024, Eurowind Energy Limited submitted a Scoping Report to Stirling Council for our proposed wind farm (report available to view via the link at the bottom of this page).
The Scoping stage seeks to engage the planning authority and other statutory and non-statutory stakeholders at an early stage in the planning process; ensuring that key issues, based on local understanding, are identified.
Receipt of scoping responses, feedback from our two rounds of public consultation, and continued environmental surveys, has helped to inform the design of the proposed wind farm.
Details of the third phase of consultation can be found below. This will be the final community consultation prior to the submission of a planning application for Cairnoch Hill Wind Farm, likely in mid-late 2026.
As part of the next stage of community engagement, EWE is inviting local communities to take part in discussions on the proposals. A drop-in public exhibition event will be held:
This event offers residents the opportunity to review the updated design, prior to planning application submission, which is expected to follow in mid-late 2026. There will also be the opportunity to speak directly with members of the project team.

Eurowind Energy Limited is fully committed to providing a community benefit fund of £5,000 per installed MW per annum.
We are keen to engage with local initiatives and communities to ensure local needs are met, as well as supporting new and existing community projects. Should consent be awarded, we would seek to implement a number of measures to ensure that local people, communities, and businesses are able to benefit from the project.
As part of the next stage of community engagement, EWE invited local communities to take part in discussions on the proposals. Two drop-in public exhibition events were held:
These events offered residents the opportunity to review the updated design which has lowered turbine heights and adjusted their placement. There was also the opportunity to speak directly with members of the project team.
